It was never about winning - an autobiographical memoir by Brendon Leigh
Hi, I’m Brendon Leigh.
This is my book, written to be completely honest about what it took for me to achieve my dream of winning two Formula One Sim Racing World Championships.
I come from a broken home. My mother was an alcoholic, my father was abusive, and I was a mess. Self-doubt rattled me to my core. I have written this book to be transparent about what it took to achieve my dreams, and the life lessons I’ve learnt along the way.
This book isn’t written to celebrate trophies, wins, or happy times. It’s written to be a raw reflection of how I felt, how I reacted, and what I’ve learnt.
I hope this book can serve as an opportunity for others to learn something, and hopefully avoid making the same mistakes I did. I’m not perfect, and I won’t pretend to be. But if a mistake I’ve made can help even one person, then I will be extremely happy.
Please be aware that, although it’s very limited, there are a handful of swear words written into this book. They have only been used in appropriate situations to accurately reflect exactly what I was thinking in that particular moment. With that being said, I wanted to give you a warning ahead of time, as not everyone is keen on strong language.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you have a great day.
